Create a project

The JIR Cohort supports investigators at every stage of a research project based on routinely collected health data.
From feasibility assessment to data access and publication, the JIR team takes care of the framework so you can focus on the science.

Prerequisites

Projects must be led by a physician affiliated with a JIR centre
The investigator’s institution must have signed the JIR framework agreement
This framework ensures regulatory compliance and data security

The framework agreement can be signed in parallel with the early scientific steps of the project.

Submit the Create my project form.

What JIR does

Reviews scientific and technical feasibility
Checks for overlap with ongoing projects
Provides initial guidance on next steps

The protocol and variable list are submitted to the Scientific Data Access Committee (SDAC).

Assessment includes

Scientific relevance
Methodological consistency
Justification of requested data
Regulatory compliance
Indicative review timeline: 2–4 weeks

Depending on national regulations or journal requirements, approval by an ethics committee may be necessary.
