The JIR Cohort enables clinical centers to contribute existing patient data to high-impact international research on Juvenile Inflammatory Diseases, within a secure, structured, and fully GDPR/nLPD-compliant framework.

But joining or participating in a JIR research project raises important legal and data protection questions: What does the framework agreement actually commit your institution to? What patient consent is required, and how does it evolve over time? How is data secured and access managed? Do you need to involve your local ethics committee or legal department?

In this webinar, Claire Lauria, attorney-at-law and Data Protection Officer for the JIR Cohort, will walk through the key principles of data protection applicable to international health research, and how they translate concretely into the JIR framework — from initial setup and secure platform access to patient consent and participation in specific research projects.
